AHED Campus Takeovers

The primary goal of the AHED Career Focused Day is to showcase the broad range of career possibilities within the hospitality industry. While hospitality is often associated with traditional roles, such as Room Division Operations, Front Desk, Housekeeping, and Food & Beverage related roles such as Restaurant and Event Management roles. AHED aims to highlight unconventional opportunities in fields such as engineering, accounting, chemistry, communications, public relations, and all facets or business management sales & marketing, information technology data analytics. By collaborating with colleges and universities, AHED intends to bring awareness to the various paths that intersect with the hospitality sector.

Event Features:

  • Interactive Learning Sessions

    Hosted by professionals from our partner companies, including Hilton, Hyatt, Marriott, Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits, Bloomin’ Brands, Bacardi, Dollar Tree and more. These sessions will provide hands-on experiences and insights into non-traditional hospitality careers.

  • Large Interactive Games

    Fun and engaging games will be set up across the campus to create an enjoyable and interactive atmosphere for students. These games will not only entertain but also impart valuable lessons about teamwork, problem-solving, and innovation.

  • Food and Refreshments

    AHED will bring a delightful culinary experience to campus, showcasing the diverse and exciting aspects of the hospitality industry. This will include food tastings, cooking demonstrations, and opportunities for students to interact with professionals in the culinary field.

  • Concurrent Workshops

    A series of concurrent workshops will be conducted to delve deeper into specific career paths and provide students with practical knowledge. Workshops will be facilitated by industry experts, offering valuable insights and networking opportunities.

  • Graduate Engagement

    PWIs will be invited to market their graduate programs, NYU in particular, as a special scholarship for HBCU students only, and AHED will be encouraging other schools to offer similar opportunities.

  • Senior Market Place

    PWIs and other non HBCUs will be invited to showcase their graduate programs, and to offer scholarship opportunities. NYU’s Tisch Center for Hospitality has a full-ride Scholarship dedicated for HBCU students.
